Home Renovation Series: The Final Post

This is the final post in my personal home renovation series. After years of seeing my vision slowly come to life, the end result is more than I could have asked for. Every part of my home has a unique memory and meaning and being part of bringing it to life is an important step to helping others see their home’s potential. Making art out of an idea and then sharing it with you has been a wonderful bonus of this journey.

The following renovations include my entryway, basement, sitting room, and powder rooms. If you’ve been following me since the beginning of this blog, you might recognize parts of my house from prior projects. This renovation journey has been layered and carefully thought out through the years. In these photos I see the hours and love invested into seeing what our home’s potential could be and the many decisions that brought everything together.

I wanted this space to feel bright and modern yet grounded with warmth, so I opted for neutral walls, rich wood tones, and bold artwork for a splash of personality. Peeking into the dining room, I balanced elegance with comfort. Soft, quilted chairs, a sleek chandelier, and a pop of blush pink shows my love for whimsy without feeling unapproachable to guests.

I wanted to create a space that felt both modern and inviting, so I chose a soft gray upholstery paired with clean, organic shapes. They playful mirror accents add a touch of personality, while the textured walls and curated art bring subtle depth to the room.

My tip: A little greenery finishes it off, making this sitting area feel calm and welcoming to all.

The basement was all about creating a space for the whole family to enjoy. I anchored the room with a camel-colored leather sectional—it’s stylish, durable, and so comfortable. I layered it with plaid blankets and bold accent pillows to keep things playful. The Detroit Lions neon sign brings personality and a bit of fun, while the black media console and sleek storage keep everything grounded.

You saw this powder room when my assistant interviewed me about the intricacies of renovating such a small space.

For this powder room, I wanted to make a bolder statement. The deep blue cabinetry was a favorite choice, and I balanced it with hexagonal flooring and brass fixtures for a modern yet timeless look. I added a personal touch with a framed patent artwork and a clean, gold-framed mirror that adds just the right amount of elegance.

My Tip: Powder rooms are the perfect place to take risks. A bold palette, statement finishes, or unique art can completely transform a small space.

So, what about you?
